Tips for Winter

Pruning – Hold off cutting back frost-damaged plants to avoid further damage. Now is the time to prune deciduous trees. While plants are bare it is easier to remove dead or crowded growth or spot invasive climbers and remove them. Also, it is the perfect time to get stuck into pruning your roses.

Roses

June – Prune at the end of the month and plant new ones

July – continue to prune and planting bare rooted ones

Hedges

August – plant now to benefit from spring growth

Lawn
